Their oyster selections change frequently, and it is a treat to taste how each variety tastes on the spectrum of briny, cucumbery and creamy.
I usually accompany with a small amount of mignonette.
Raw oysters always taste best for me with a little source of acid, and the vinegar really allows the taste of each oyster to shine.
Their cocktail has a nice smokiness, but generally, I think cocktail sauce overpowers the flavor of more delicate oysters.
My favorites from this evening were the Naked Cowgirls and Black Duck Salt oysters.
Cowgirls left a nice, rich, lingering finish, and the Ducks were a good balance of briny and creamy without being too salty.
I also like their wines by the glass.
Sancerre, Albarino or a Muscadet are crisp, dry whites that click here very well with oysters.
To round out the meal, we usually have some cooked small plates as well.
I think their cooked oysters generally pale in comparison to their raw ones.
I like their smoked PEI mussels, fries with rosemary and garlic, and the roasted broccolini topped with beet microgreens was delicious last night.
I already love microgreens, and I'm now I'm obsessed with finding beet microgreens.
Their field green salad was a pass for me.
When you have only a plate of spring lettuce, the dressing should sing.
This dressing didn't even hum a few bars -- just one note of too sweet.
I like their gem and wedge salads better.
Be forewarned that the dressing on both these salads are pretty rich, but hey.
Service is always a 5 star.
They are attentive, but relaxed; so, you feel fine ordering more things as you go along while enjoying a lovely LA evening.
We ordered the green goddess salad and it was delicious.
The mussels were beyond disappointing and not worth ordering.
As for the lobster roll it was OK, nothing wrong with it but I didn't think it was great.
They also don't offer the option of an undressed lobster so you got to eat it dressed with mayo.
This spot is perfect for a drink.
They're upstairs bar area is super romantic.
The dark walls and ambiance make me want to sink into the seat and stay awhile.
If you're on a date and looking for a good drink spot after dinner- head here!!
They have Happy Hour Day, which is DOPE.
There isn't tons on the HH menu, but a small HH is better than no HH.
I would have given this place 5 stars, but I didn't love my burger.
It may be because we fucked up and didn't get the cheese on it, but it was a bit over cooked and the bread wasn't the softest.
My other friend got one with cheese and she LOVED article source />My 2nd time here was a few years ago when they opened and what a difference.
Great drinks and fresh oysters!
What a great night we had and everything was stellar.
I will be back for sure.
I was able to reserve a spot for the second night worried…" Ann D.
