I'll add this to my kit-car directory stickied thread when I get a few more URLs to put up there.
I know that the maker of this kit used Citroen and motorcycle engines, so I was about to point the thread in the direction of a moderator until I saw that VW power was the standard powertrain for this trike.
I like the Grinnall Scorpion as much as this if not better, and adapting that to VW power or making a similar VW-based kit would be great.

Not only is it a legitimate fiberglass VW kit car, it's probably the only one ever to use a VW engine and transaxle up front as an FWD setup.
While the intake runners on the pictured Zero's click here evoke visions of a Subaru engine, looking at the heads and rocker blackjack zero car tells me that it's a VW engine that someone put many hours and British pounds into making into an attractive high-performance engine, with the snazzy billet rocker covers and tubular intake manifold being the icing on the cake so to speak.
Edit: Here is a picture of what the engine area of a VW-powered Blackjack Zero looks like with the front cowling off.
Another blackjack zero car, called the Avion, is made and has far more attractive frontal bodywork, but I'm not sure if Blackjack offers a VW version of it in addition to the Citroen 2CV-based version.

Too bad it never went in to production.
